Pictures at Three Months

As we mark the three month anniversary of the date of the surgeries, the weight loss we are seeing is amazing. As Tom reported, He is 81.5 pounds less than when He started, and T is down 59 pounds. They both look fantastic!

Three Month Anniversary of our surgeries and counting

Today is the third one month "anniversary" of t's and my gastric by-pass surgeries March 23. I awakened to a weigh in of 219.5 pounds. This is only one and a half pounds down from my 221 pound weight yesterday. Sometimes I get this sudden significant weight loss event phenomenon just as sometimes I get frozen at a weight for four or five days, or even regain some weight. The significance of this development, more than my being 81.5 pounds less than when I started, is that I am now into the "two hundred teens" in my weight, which does seem pretty wild having exceeded 300 pounds three months ago. When I lose another twenty pounds my weight will be in the one hundred pound plus range:) This really is beginning to seem like progress.

My t is down 59 and my swan 14. We are 154.5 pounds down combining our entire family's weight loss.

Thank you all again for your interest, kind words and thoughts, and support.

New Milestone and Significant Progress

I awakened this morning to see the magic number 221 pounds on my bathroom scale. The magic involved with those three digits is that March 9 that same scale read 301 pounds during a fasting morning weigh in. I have just reached the 80 pound weight loss milestone.

Too t, who has struggled as she has progressed through the 50's in her weight loss, has just had a larger than usual drop. She was down 59 pounds as of this morning.

swan too is now down 14 pounds (you'll recall that swan did not have weight loss surgery.)

So combined the Heron Clan has now lost 153 pounds since March.

Tomorrow, June 23, will be the third anniversary of t's and my surgeries.

Thank you all once again for your interest and support here and in your personal communications and email.

Tom's Dr. Appointment

Tom had an appointment with our PCP/Infectious Disease Docs today. The wounds are looking great. He has to have a fasting blood test because they might be taking him off of his cholesterol medication. He is already on the lowest blood pressure medication and they will reevaluate that on his next visit.

They all "oooh'd and ahhhh'd" all over him. He looks FABULOUS! But that is just from us....it is always better coming from others, me thinks. And they don't want to see him for 2 months!

Also, he has a hernia from the abdominal surgery. They are not concerned about it, but will keep an eye on it anyhoo.

He is down nearly 80 pounds and I am still dancing around 57 pounds.

So There!

One More Milestone passes Behind Us

This morning I awakened to a weigh in of 225.5. That means I have lost 75.5 pounds. I feel like surpassing the 75 pound weight loss mark is a major milestone.

Too t is now down 57 pounds and her increasing slimness is showing as she has finally gotten past here plateau.

swan, who left today for Denver to visit her new little one, is down 13 pounds. She and I are walking daily and often managing a distance of 3 miles (in 58 minutes or less thank you very much:)

Thus we three are now totalling 145 pounds weight loss for the entire family:)

Thank you all for your wonderful support in noticing our progress and commenting on it.

All the best,

Tom

More Milestones

I awakened to have achieved a weight of 229. This is only 2 pounds down from a week ago, so not a huge step, but I am very pleased to have reached beyond the 230's down into the 220 pound range.

Way more importantly my t awakened to realize she had suddenly lost 3 pounds. She has been "stuck" for about two weeks fluctuating up and down a pound or so. It is very reinforcing for her to have finally seen a result.

So now t has lost 56 pounds. I am down 72 pounds. sue continues to hold with her 12 pound loss. Thus we have now had a total of 140 pounds weight loss between the three of us.

Thank you again for all the support.

All the best,

Tom

Latest Milstone

I awakened this morning to perform my daily nude, fasting weigh in and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a the numbers "231" staring back at me on our digital scale. My baseline weight was 301. I have reached a total loss of 70 pounds this morning which is precisely 10 weeks from the morning of our surgery Monday, March 23.

One more milestone behind us in our progress.

Today too, t was down 53 pounds, another pound gone as her weight loss has slowed, making each pound she loses a precious achievement for her.

I think swan is still down 12 pounds. (I didn't actually ask her her weight status this morning. Inquiring of our family member who didn't have weight loss surgery frequently seems inappropriate. We will be very pleased when t or I, either one of us, gets down to swan's BMI.)

That means the three of us are down a total of 135 pounds between us:)

Anyway I have breached the 70 pound weight loss mark for the first time:)

All the best,

Tom
